Earlier in 2023, I was a part of Rosanna Verdon-Roe’s ambitious MA grad film, Naked Came the Stranger, as a contributing animator.

As described by the director: “Naked Came the Stranger is an animators rendition of the game rendition of the game 'Exquisite Corpse’ where the final film is a mystery to all involved. Each animator is given a beginning and end picture to connect and turn into a scene! The twist is their end picture is the next person's beginning! So when all the scenes are strung together it makes a fluid film with a daisy-chain plot."

21 animators contributed on this film including myself. Each animator had total creative control over thier animation in terms of visuals, duration, style and content. The only guidelines were thier beginning image as thier starting point and ending with thier ending image. Whatever we did to connect them was up to us. My animation skills are limited so I wanted to make mine on the shorter side with a focus on a faster pace and psychedelic visuals, with the fun colour palette provided.

Naked Came the Stranger was a finalist in Best Animation at the 2023 Student Impact Film Festival.
